Wedding Photography: Darren & Tasha

Darren and Tasha are a couple from my home town of Saltash who got married on the 18th of June. They decided to keep there day local and had the ceremony at St Stephan Church before moving to the China Fleet club for the reception.

It was a great day of celebration with close friends and family, with a heart warming ceremony and brilliant reception with some amazing speeches!

We also took a trip to the China Fleet golf course for some pictures around the lake which was fun, especially with the golf buggies!

A huge congratulations to Darren and Tasha, below are a few quick highlights from there day.

Seascape Photography: Crackington Haven & Plymouth Sound

I’v had a few weeks break between weddings and have been busy working on my seascape projects. Recent good sales on stock sitse has promoted me to spend a bit more time working on this which has been quite rewarding.

The first place I visited was Crackinton Haven on the north coast of Cornwall. This a interesting rocky cove with alot of seascape interest. It’s also popular with photographers and on this occasional there must have been about seven people photographing from the beach.

A few things where slightly frustrating with this shoot, the first thing was the amount of photographers along the beach which limited the among of clear composition I had, secondly it was getting used to the perspective of my new lens. I used to do most of my landscape photography using a 10mm sigma which was quite wide angled, but recently upgraded to a Canon 16mm. The change has mean I’v needed to adjust my eye regarding seeing possible shots and compositions which has been a tricky transition.

Anyway after a bit of clambering over rock and rushing around the waters edge finding a composition before the light faded I managed to get these two shots, one just before sunset with great golden light and the other about twenty minutes after.

A few days later I visited a location a bit nearer to where I live close to Bovisand on the Jenny Cliff coastal path.

It’s a really beautiful part of the coast, and on a few occasions walking along it I’v seen this cool looking harbour at the waters edge on the bottom of the cliff. So decided to make an attempt to reach it, but rapidly realized that trekking through two hundred meters of thick bramble’s was not going to work out to well, and after my friend Mairead pointed out a warming sign for un-exploded devices in the area we opted for a shot of the harbour from the cliff top.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY: NATHAN & KERRI

Nathan and Kerri got married in Plymouth with the ceremony being held at Plymouth registry office and the reception taking place at the Beautiful Astor Hotel.

Both the venues are situated around Plymouth Hoe which made for a stunning back drop to the days proceedings.

There where many memorable moments from the day, a heart warming ceremony, spectacular speeches which where full of laugher and tears and an amazing evening function and disco. A great day of celebration.

A huge congratulations to your both. Below are a few photographs from the day.
