New Years Day Surf

We had been aware of the potential for good surf on New Years day for most of the week, but it is always a risk with the south coast as the slight change in condition can make for what would be an epic session into flat conditions or worse! Like most things with surfing you have to take a risk sometimes. So we sacrificed a heavy night out and left early for the journey down. Was quite an overcast cast day with not even a breath of wind which we knew would mean classy condition if the swell was showing. Luckily we arrived at high tide and was greeted with fun 2-3ft classy condition with set waves coming through every 6 minutes with only a hand full of people out.

My friends who I travelled down with headed straight in , and I decided to document the session from the shore. The pier looked better then the main reef so we spent the session Bodybaording there.
