Since early last week a good quality swell has been forecast for this weekend and everyone was getting pretty excited by it. Although the swell was forecast to fully arrive for Sunday from experiences I’ve learnt that the start of the swell seems to produce the best quality waves, especially on beach break when the sand haven’t been disturbed to much before hand.
With this in mind I decided to check my favourite shore break the day before the main swell was suppose to arrive, and travelled down with my friend and fellow wave rider Scott Rickard. When we arrived it looked small but ridable but then quickly built to a decent 3 foot range. I spent the session photographing from the water. Didn’t get any magazine worthy images but was great fun to document the session from the water. A few images I captured from the trip.
Sunday I travelled down to the same spot for the big swell with fellow bodyboarder Matty Allen. On arrival we where greeted with 4-5ft solid swell. I attempted to do some water shooting but wasn’t being to productive in the heavy condition so got out and spent the rest of the session documenting from the land. A quick few images from the Sundays session.
