Spot M 14th December 2011

Took another trip to Spot M after work today with Plymouth Bodyboarder Mark Duignan. On arrival it didn’t look inviting at all, it was grey, stormy, messy, and threatening. The beach looked quite different too, a week of huge swell had moved a large amount of sand into the bay, not sure if this effected the waves in anyway but it didn’t look great. After a few minutes of working out if it would be worth checking a few other places we thought we would get in anyway, with only a few hours of daylight left there wasn’t a great number of options close by.

By the time we got changed and back to the beach it was great to see it had improved greatly, the swell had dropped sharply and with the pushing tide and switch in wind direction there was some nice hollow peaks breaking through on second beach. I took my water housing in but the light was absolutely junk although it was fun to get few photos to document the session. Yep a worth while trip. Looks like there could be a good run of south coast conditions through the weekend too, cant wait!
